CELTIC FROST Mainman Says He Is 'Eternally Indebted' To Group's Fans
June 24, 2005CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has posted the following message on his official blog:
"In the months since its existence has been announced on the CELTIC FROST website, this blog — together with the CELTIC FROST discussion board — has become an extraordinary link between band and fans. I am also being flooded with private e-mails now that my e-mail address is publicly visible in my profile. I don't perceive that as a nuisance by any means. Quite the opposite: it is astonishing that such communication is possible, now that CELTIC FROST are putting together an album again. When Martin [Ain, bass] and I spent endless nights discussing music, history and the occult as teenagers in his room in the early 1980s, and when we joined up in HELLHAMMER a short time later, we were far from imagining ever having a international audience, and far from imagining being able to directly exchange thoughts with this audience. This is the first CELTIC FROST album to emerge under such circumstances.
"I have received innumerable mails these past few months, and although I usually attempt to send at least a brief reply, it takes quite a while to accomplish this. We are all hard-pressed for time at the moment, and we hope that those who do send us mails may understand. I do read all incoming mail, however, and I am also forwarding a great many of these mails to the entire band. There are some that even end up pinned on the walls of our rehearsal studio. I am eternally indebted to so many of you for the words you have been sending me. I have received countless passionate, fiery, supportive, analytical, intelligent and encouraging mails about the band, and I have been receiving so many very personal and truly amazing messages with regard to some of the private things I have been posting here, not least the death of my wonderful dog. My own feeble words can never adequately express how much this has meant to me.
"Thank you all for that.
"Last night, we discussed the recent posting of Verushka's photo on my blog, and we all agree that we will continue to use this platform occasionally to show all of you some unreleased or unusual glimpses into the netherworld of CELTIC FROST. There will also be updates to the CELTIC FROST website in the coming months, among which you will find the e-mail addresses of all band members."
As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on June 16, CELTIC FROST have selected HYPOCRISY/PAIN mainman Peter Tägtgren to co-produce their long-awaited comeback effort, tentatively titled "Dark Matter Manifest". The band willl enter Horus Sound Studio in Hannover, Germany on August 1 to begin recording their first collection of new material since 1990's "Vanity/Nemesis". Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Incantation against You", "Obscured", "Ain Elohim" and "Temple of Depression".
CELTIC FROST, who have been mixing new demo material at Oakland Recording in Winterthur, Switzerland, have yet to secure a record deal for their upcoming CD.
